…this discovery of yours will create forgetfulness in the learners’ souls, because they will not use their memories; they will trust to the external written characters and not remember of themselves. The specific which you have discovered is an aid not to memory, but to reminiscence, and you give your disciples not truth, but only the semblance of truth; they will be hearers of many things and will have learned nothing; they will appear to be omniscient and will generally know nothing; they will be tiresome company, having the show of wisdom without the reality.
Socrates - Phaedrus
Context: «Socrates tells the story of the ancient Egyptian god Theuth, inventor of letters, and what the god and king Ammon (Thamus in Greek) said to Theuth about his invention»
I’ll call this “The starting point” with Masanobu Fukuoka
Evolution is written in complex ways.
….and somedays I think….
If it is real, it can be imagined.
If it can be imagined, it’s real.
The Universe is no mystery, it is a question.
We, however, and our consciousness (whatever that may be) are most likely the answer.
Sometimes I think that probably I am the whole universe and that all that exists is just there for my own development and “joy”. This seems that is an “easy” way to think but really, I can go further, I say that there is no “you”, no “others”, no “other things”, so, from my perspective “you” do not exist, “you” are just a reflection of me experiencing myself.
In the same way you can say that I do not exist as a separate identity from you. Because the way everybody has consciousness is by themselves, there is no consciousness coming from “others”, you can not be in “others”’ consciousness. So everybody has their own personal “universe” and “we” (me and you reading this and putting yourself in this mind frame) never die, only “others” die. This is the thought I arrived so far.
I found this interesting and inspiring.
«The spirit of goodness will survive» Paul Stamets
God, nature, and the soul of man, all of which appear to differ, are one. This has always been, and shall always be, the only way for man to live. The only way is to live a life without apparent goal, to reject completely riches and honor and live in concert with nature.
- Masanobu Fukuoka (in The Road Back to Nature)
Compelled to speak, God says nothing.
Unable to say anything, man speaks.
Man is ignorant of the truth, but expounds on all fields of learning.
God is versed in all things, but expounds on nothing.
God takes no action, yet created all things.
Man does all things, yet creates nothing.
- Masanobu Fukuoka (Kami no Kakumei)
But to know god, you must be god, and to be god you must let go of being who you thought you were.
