David Suzuki explains the fallacy of conventional economics, in an interview done for the BBC. The song is “Outro” by M83.
What if the person on the other side of the mirror is the real you?
The Universe inside you. After all what is reality? Like Morpheus asked: «how do you define real?» Because even if I see or touch something that I think it’s my laptop or my room, is it really out there? Or is it just an interpretation of what is outside me? And then it turns out that I’m just living in a self-made reality, inside me, not even knowing for sure if I’m really interacting with that “thing” outside of me. For example, what is the color of a X-ray wave or a radio wave? They are all around me and I can’t see or feel them but they exist… All is pure energy molded by our desires.
This makes me think that sometimes people restrain themselves because of some man-made rules that, in many cases, are applied differently around the world. I mean, if we are all humans, why are there different rules and laws in each country? Of course that means that those are not universal rules or even useful rules to be guided from, otherwise everybody in the world would agree on them and understand its applications.
But that take us to another issue. If these rules are not universal we can say that they belong to the imaginary consent of each society. And what else is imaginary? I’m thinking of the “crisis” now. In fact there is no need for crisis or debt slavery or trust ratings, those are not real problems, they were just made up by our own imagination. We can stop them anytime. Because what makes a society is their citizens, their real needs and their ideas and dreams. We currently have the ability to feed everyone (how much food is wasted everyday?), to give a house to everyone (how many houses you know that are empty?), to satisfy the energy needs of everyone (we have already the technology even if its not so efficient - but it can be).
So, the great challenge of society nowadays is to wake up from this imaginary (and unpleasant) dream and just interact in fact with reality (at least the reality we now know).
truly truly breathtaking
Meanwhile in the real world…
“The real you is not a puppet which life pushes around. The real you IS the whole universe.”
